"Strawberries with Bread"
Home made country sourdough bread and strawberries are a favorite in my house. It is 18 degrees with winds blowing 40 mph, but warm and toasty in the kitchen.

"Downton Abbey's Brass Service Bell"
If you watch Downton Abbey on PBS I don't need to tell you about this bell. But for those who don't, this is a Servant's Bell that rings from each of the rooms of Downton Abbey to the servants quarters. A PBS TV series on Sunday nights is a must watch if you are a romantic at heart. Every thing stops in my house to watch this!

"A Cowboy's Spur"
I found this spur in the old barn many years ago laying in a pile of hay. The sun was coming through a window and made it look as if it were just lost moments ago. We are in the grips of winter here but spring is just around the corner, so there is hope that one day everything will come alive again!

"Old Jar and Arkansas Black Apple"
I have hade this jar for a while, it's from my old hoosier cabinet. I believe it is Cloves inside and the apple is my last Arkansas Black Apple, named for their very dark red color, they are very sweet and juicy.

"Antique Bottles and Vines"
I collect old bottles and the two here belonged to a retired Chemist that I was lucky to get some of his bottles. The apothecary bottle has linseed oil and the little one, Chromium Sulphate Merck what ever that is I don't know. I found the vine on a woodland walk near by but not sure what it is. Without the leave it's hard to tell but it still has these beautiful berries on it.

"Racing to Beat the Thunder Storm on Lake Norfork"
On a warm summer evening up pops one of those sudden thunderstorms. You don't want to be on the lake in a thunderstorm with lighting. I was caught in one and we pulled over to the shore in our pontoon but it was soaking all of us. Well the storm passed but when the lighting hit 2 miles away I could feel the tingle from it creeping up my legs. I watched this boat racing to beat it back to the boat dock. Lake Norfork Marina is just about 2 minutes to the right and he did make it just in time.

This is painted Alla Prima, (in one setting). There are 5 Reds that were used in this painting of my favorite candy, Queen Anne Cherry Cordials, and after that it was eaten along with about 4 more!
